So, you’ve made your first cosplay—now it’s time to show it off!
Attending a cosplay event is exciting, but if you’ve never been before, you might be wondering what to expect. Here’s a guide to making the most of your first convention!
1. Take a Friend
Its always better if you can bring a friend for moral support.
2. The Cosplay Vibe is 100% Supportive
Don’t worry if your costume isn’t “perfect.” The cosplay community is all about creativity and fun! If you getcompliments and people asking for photos, awesome, but don’t worry all is not lost.
3. Pack the Essentials
Bring a repair kit if you can, that specific to the costume (safety pins, glue, velcro, double-sided tape), snacks, water, and comfy shoes if possible. Conventions are LONG, and you’ll thank yourself later.
4. Photos Will Happen!
People will ask for photos, and that’s part of the fun! Strike a pose, smile, and don’t be shy.
If you want a break, just politely decline—everyone understands, never be pressured for pictures.
6. Make Friends and Have Fun!
Conventions are full of people who love the same things you do—chat with other cosplayers, join group photos, and enjoy the experience! Design and Print a business card or a sticke, with a QR code, to give to new friends, that has links to your socials!!
Get involved!
